چکیده

We propose a temporal extension of Datalog which can be used to model and query temporal databases with relations based on multiple clocks. The extension, called Clocked Temporal Datalog, is based on a clocked temporal logic in which each predicate and hence each formula can be assigned a separate clock. A Clocked Temporal Datalog program consists of three parts: (1) a clock definition, (2) a clock assignment, and (3) a program body. The clock definition specifies all the available clocks. The clock assignment assigns to each predicate defined in the program body a clock from the clock definition. The meaning of the program body naturally depends on the provided clock definition and assignment. Therefore a Clocked Temporal Datalog program models intensionally a clocked database in which each relation is defined over a clock. Programmable clock definitions are very flexible in specifying periodic as well as some nonperiodic clocks, and in specifying relationships between clocks on the fly.

An Approach of SQL to JSON Transformation For Handling Database Operations

Nowadays NOSQL databases are becoming more popular. Companies like Google, Facebook, and Amazon has created their own NOSQL databases based on their requirements. Different types of querying approaches are followed by different NOSQL databases, whereas traditional databases like MySQL, ORACLE, etc. follows SQL for querying. Most of the companies are shifting from traditional databases to NOSQL ...

Keeyword Search in Databases

Querying using keywords is easily the most widely used form of querying today. While keyword searching is widely used to search documents on the Web, querying of databases currently relies on complex query languages that are inappropriate for casual end-users, since they are complex and hard to learn. Given the popularity of keyword search, and the increasing use of databases as the back end fo...

An Overview of Fuzzy Approaches to Flexible Database Querying

In reality, a lot of information is available only in an imperfect form. This might be due to imprecision, vagueness, uncertainty, incompleteness, or ambiguities. Traditional database systems can only adequately cope with perfect data. Among others, fuzzy set theory has been applied to deal with imperfections of data in a more natural way and to enhance the accessibility of databases. In this c...

Sequence Datalog: Declarative String Manipulation in Databases

We investigate logic-based query languages for sequence databases , that is, databases in which strings of symbols over a xed alphabet can occur. We discuss diierent approaches to querying strings, including Prolog and Datalog with function symbols, and argue that all of them have important limitations. We then present the semantics of Sequence Datalog, a logic for querying sequence databases, ...

Exploiting Tag Clouds for Database Browsing and Querying

We show how tag clouds can be used alongside more traditional query languages and data visualisation techniques as a means for browsing and querying databases. Our approach is based on a general, extensible framework that supports different modes of visualisation as well as different database systems. A number of demonstrator databases and interfaces will be used to show how tag clouds can be u...
